So far, everything is at the prototype stage. Apple to teach 2019 iPhone to work underwater

The first rumors have already begun to appear on the network about what can be expected from Apple smartphones in 2019. This time, Max Weinbach from the XDA Developers community announced that the next iPhones will have screens that can work underwater.

While development is at the prototype stage, the company is considering a number of samples. According to the source, at the moment everything looks like the implementation of the technology in the next iPhone is very likely.

Apple previously patented Underwater Mode, which allows you to use your smartphone underwater. In other words, the touchscreen is capable of recognizing clicks even when completely submerged in water. It is this technology that is used in prototypes. Among other things, with such screens, the iPhone will be more convenient to use in the rain.

In late February, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the 2019 smartphone lineup will include three models - 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch smartphones with OLED screens and a 6.1-inch model with LCD. They will receive frosted glass cases, increased battery capacity, improved Face ID recognition, new technology for positioning and navigation in rooms, and wireless charging of other devices. At least one model will have a triple camera.
